Talking about the match, Der Klassiker lived up to all expectations as it had some high-quality goals, top-class defending and late drama. After the Bavarians took an early lead. The defending Bundesliga champions then doubled their lead in the 53rd minute with Leroy Sane's incredible goal.
21 minutes later, Dortmund finally retaliated as Youssoufa Moukoko scored to pull one back. The Yellow army built on this momentum and scared a draw thanks to Anthony Modeste's goal in the extra time.
Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann talked about the team's performance and pointed out how the team had a few chances in the second half. He also praised their opponents for going all out towards the end which helped them salvage the draw.
"The teams were well matched. We were a little better in the second half, but Dortmund had some decent passages. At the end of the day, it's a fair result. We had two or three chances to put the game to bed. After that, we didn't defend well for their first goal.
"Then Dortmund threw everything forward. For the equaliser, we had to put more pressure on [Nico] Schlotterbeck. If we'd done that, they wouldn't have scored. Obviously, it's tough to take because they equalised so late, but it's not completely undeserved."
