Carlo Ancelotti, the Real Madrid manager, was categoric in mentioning that the role of Jude Bellingham won’t change after Kylian Mbappe’s arrival at the club. In his debut season for Real Madrid, the midfielder Jude Bellingham played an advanced role to great effect, playing a key role for the club in winning the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

In the ongoing summer transfer window, the forward Kylian Mbappe joined Real Madrid on a free transfer after leaving Paris Saint-Germain. With that, there were speculations around whether Jude Bellingham will have to play in a deeper role at Real Madrid, to open up a position for Kylian Mbappe to get a start.

Jude Bellingham’s role to not change after Kylian Mbappe’s arrival: Ancelotti

The report from the BBC had Carlo Ancelotti speak about how Jude Bellingham won’t be needing to play in a different role to accommodate Kylian Mbappe. He said, “Nothing changes for him (Jude Bellingham). Nothing changes. The first season, he surprised a lot, because he showed fantastic quality, a really mature guy. The next season will not be different. He is going to be one of the best players that we have, supporting a lot the team with his quality.”

Carlo Ancelotti also disagreed with the criticism of Jude Bellingham’s performances at the recently concluded UEFA Euro 2024, where he played a key role in England reaching the final. The 65-year-old said, “This is an opinion but Bellingham played really well at the Euros. England played really well, they reached the final and were close to winning it. I don't know how the players are tired for the game.”

“The most important players are used to playing every three days, they manage that really well and arrive at the end of the season without any problems,” he added.
