The Delhi Capitals or the then-Delhi Daredevils have been a crucial part of the Indian Premier League since the tournament's inception in 2008. The Delhi-based franchise had a few great seasons in the early days of the IPL but hit a lean patch from 2011 to 2018, making only one playoff appearance in 2012.Then in December 2018, the franchise ditched the Daredevils named and rebranded their team as the Delhi Capitals. The change led to better results as the team made three playoffs in the next five years. But despite having some of the best players in the world, DC has made just one final appearance in tournament history. Best All-time XI of Delhi Capitals Openers - Virender Sehwag, Shikhar Dhawan Delhi Capitals' opening pair would include Indian greats Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan. Sehwag played most of his IPL career in Delhi, scoring 2382 runs in 86 matches at a strike rate of 158.37. He also was the leading run-scorer for Delhi in the inaugural season with a tally of 534 runs at a strike rate of 140.89. Coming in at number four will be the captain of the all-time Delhi side, Shreyas Iyer. The Mumbai batter led DC to their only finals appearance in 2020 and has racked up 1681 runs at a 30.56 average and 126.96 strike rate. Patel has emerged as a crucial member of the new-age DC core.
