The Indian Premier League is one of the most popular cricketing tournaments that has not only brought promising talent on the global platform but also has given birth to a handful of controversies over the years. One such controversy is the infamous ‘Slapgate’ incident that took place in the inaugural season of the IPL, where Harbhajan Singh slapped Sreesanth at the end of the Kings XI Punjab’s clash against Mumbai Indians at Mohali. However, both the cricketers have moved past it and become good friends.

One such example of their bonding was seen during a recent match in the ongoing season of the IPL, when Harbhajan interrupted Virendra Sehwag when he was trying to mock Sreesanth over the incident that happened long ago. Sehwag poked fun at Sreesanth in a panel discussion which led Singh to intervene and change the topic.

The trio was engaged in a conversation in a panel for Star Sports along side Yusuf Pathan and Jatin Sapru, when Sreesanth revealed how he used to hug Harbhajan before the onset of any match. It was his ritual that helped him better his performance during the match.

"I want to share that before playing a Test or any other match, I always hugged Bhajji pa (Harbhajan Singh). My performance always used to be better," said Sreesanth during the Star Sports segment with the 2011 World Cup winners. Taking a dig at him, Sehwag quickly asked, "When did this hug trend start! Probably after the incident in Mohali."

However, Harbhajan was quick to intervene and diverted the conversation saying, “Bhul jao yaar (forget it man).”

While Sreesanth was a part of the Yuvraj Singh-led Kings XI Punjab (Punjab Kings), Harbhajan represented Mumbai Indians in the inaugural season of the IPL. However, in the ongoing season of the IPL, Shikhar Dhawan is leading PBKS, who will face Rajasthan Royals on April 5, in Guwahati.
