In recent times, the world of Bollywood is seeking inspiration from heroics done on the field of sports. The world that witnessed Kapil Dev's era with the 1983 World Cup, got to see Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh portray him on the big screen. Another film Jersey which is based on cricket was scheduled to hit the cinemas on New Year's but was unfortunately postponed due to the increase COVID-19 cases.

Actor Taapsee Pannu will also be seen donning woman cricketer Mithali Raj in "Shaabash Mithu" which is likely to hit the cinemas soon. Yet again, very recently Netflix released the teaser video of "Chakda Xpress" which talks about woman cricketer Jhulan Goswami portrayed by Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma as the cricketer.

Recently, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan also expressed his desire to do a biopic on Virat Kohli. Kartik was asked in an interview about whom he would like to play the role of in a biopic. To this Kartik replied,  “If I'd love to do a biopic…Virat Kohli!”

As for Virat Kohli, he has been in the headlines post the ODI captaincy saga. In the ongoing South Africa series, the Test captain missed the second Test at Wanderers Stadium due to a back spasm and will reportedly make his way back to the side for the final Test that begins on 11th January in Cape Town.
