Former South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, who also served as a bowling coach for SunRisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has now confirmed that he won’t be a part of the franchise for the next edition in 2025. However, Steyn also mentioned that he will continue his role for SRH’s sister franchise Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the South Africa T20 League (SA20) in 2025. Dale Steyn shared news of him leaving SRH through a post from his social media account.
Notably, Dale Steyn was appointed as a bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of IPL 2022. However SRH didn’t have a good outing in 2022 and 2023 as they failed to qualify for the playoffs in both editions. Steyn made him unavailable for SRH ahead of IPL 2024 and his place was filled by former New Zealand bowler James Franklin. SRH had a great season in 2024 as they qualified for the final after six years.
