BWF World Tour 2022 has reached its pinnacle with the World Tour Finals scheduled to take place in Bangkok from 7-11 December. The season-end tournament will have the likes of Viktor Axelsen, Akane Yamaguchi, and Tai Tzu Ying. Meanwhile, from India, only HS Prannoy has qualified in the men’s singles category. Last year’s medallists- K Srikanth and Lakshya Sen failed to make the cut.

PV Sindhu had qualified for the event but the double Olympic medallist and the lone gold medal winner in the tournament decided to skip the event with an ankle injury. Talking about Prannoy, the Indian has been clubbed in Group A along with Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen of Denmark, Japan's Kodai Naraoka and China's Lu Guang Zu.

The four other participants in the men’s singles category are Loh Kean Yew, Chou Tien Chen, Jonatan Christie, and Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

Meanwhile, women’s singles Group A sees several blockbuster clashes with top seed Chen Yu Fei, South Korea’s An Se Young, Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi and Indonesia’s Gregoria Tunjung all grouped together. In the Group B, Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying, China’s He Bing Jiao and Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon, Busanan Ongbamrungphan are all grouped together.
