The Carabao Cup 2022-23 has entered its Round of 16 stage after the completion of the third round as Cristiano Ronaldo-less Manchester United defeated Aston Villa 4-2 in the last fixture. In the fourth round, Manchester City are scheduled to host the EFL Cup holders Liverpool while Man United will play against Burnley.

After defeating Chelsea in the third round fixture, Premier League champions Man City will square off against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in the fourth round at the Etihad Stadium. Both, City and Liverpool have won the last five editions of the EFL Cup as Pep Guardiola's side managed four title victories while the Reds won the last edition.

On the other hand, Manchester United scored four goals in a single match for the first time since Erik ten Hag has taken the charge of the Red Devils as Anthony Martial opened the goal scoring for United as he equalized after just a minute of conceding a goal. Villa again took the lead just after the one-hour mark and Marcus Rashford equalized after six minutes. Bruno Fernandes scored in the 78th minute and Scott McTominay's 90+1' goal sealed the match for United.

The Old Trafford club will now host the likes of Burnley, which is managed by former Man City defender Vincent Kompany, in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup 2022-23. In other fixtures, Newcastle are scheduled to face Bournemouth while Leicester will be travelling to MK Dons.
