World number 2 player Carlos Alcaraz confirmed playing at the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals in Turin. The 20-year-old withdrew from the Swiss Indoors championships this month due to a left foot injury and muscle fatigue in his lower back. Alcaraz recently competed in Shanghai, where he lost to Grigor Dimitrov in the Round of 16.

At the Paris Masters, Alcaraz will resume his fight for the number 1 spot on the standings which is currently occupied by Novak Djokovic. The 20-year-old took to Twitter and confirmed playing in the forthcoming tournament, and wrote, “I have good news! I am feeling better every day and I will play Paris-Bercy and be in Turin for the ATP Finals! Excited to finish the year on a high!”

The reigning world champion won his third and fourth Masters 1000 titles at Indian Wells and Madrid this year but fell short in Cincinnati in an epic final clash against Serbian star Novak Djokovic. After losing the semi-final round at the US Open, Alcaraz surrendered his number 1 ranking to Djokovic.

Speaking of the tournament, the Paris Masters is set to begin on October 28, Saturday, and will end on November 5, Sunday. The ATP Finals, on the flip side, are set to commence from November 12 to November 19.
