Preview:
Matchday 5 will feature Manchester United locking horns against Spanish giants Villarreal in a clash of the top 2 from Group F. Having being tied on 7-points each, a win for either of these two teams can confirm their place in the knockout stage, courtesy to a draw result in the other group clash. With Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the last minute winner last time around at Old Trafford, both teams are aware about the shortcomings of their opponent. While Villarreal are unbeaten in the last 5 games, Manchester United have lost 3 of their previous 5 games and as a result of which, will be led by Michael Carrick in this encounter after the sacking of Ole Solskjaer.
Team News:
Manchester United: The Red Devils have plenty of their marquee players on the injury list – Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw.
Villarreal: On the other hand, Unai Emery coached Yellow Submarine will be without center-forward. Gerrard Moreno is suffering from a torn muscle (hamstring injury). Serge Aurier will be unable to play, while the condition of Arnaut Danjuma and Etienne Capoue are also a concern for the host.

Analysis
Manchester United have not found the right combination for almost an entire month and with Varane, Pogba and Shaw all injured and ruled out of the game, David de Gea will have to be at his best to keep the home side at bay. On the other hand, the Yellow Submarine have managed to keep a clean sheet in 3 of their last 5 games and have looked a decent defensive unit under Unai Emery. But with the likes of Ronaldo, Rashford, Sancho and Fernandes, one cannot rule out the offensive threat of United.
Having said that, Yeremi Pino, Boulaye Dia and Paco Alcacer leading the side, they will have to take the responsibility to lead the side if they are to impress the home fans.
