Veteran Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara will return to England and play for the Sussex for the 2024 season. Pujara will be joined by Australian batter Daniel Hughes as the two overseas batters for the club. Sussex's other foreign signings have been bowlers Jayden Seales, of West Indies, and Australia's Nathan McAndrew.

The 35-year-old wasn't part of the Indian Test squad for the two-game series against South Africa and hence will focus on County Cricket to make another comeback in the national team. For 2024, Pujara will be available for the first seven County Championship matches in what is his third successive season with Sussex.
Looking at numbers, Pujara has scored 1,863 runs at an average of 64.24, including eight tons and three half-centuries in 16 appearances. In 2023, Pujara had a best of 151 against Gloucestershire which included 20 fours and two sixes.

Talking about playing for Sussex in 2024, Cheteshwar Pujara talked about how he is excited to come after enjoying the last two seasons at Hove. He said, "I have enjoyed my time at Hove the last couple of seasons and couldn't be more delighted to be back again with the Sussex family. I am looking forward to joining the team and contributing to its success."
