Paris Saint-Germain’s manager Christophe Galtier has recently confirmed that the current Ligue 1 season will be Lionel Messi’s last season with PSG. The Argentine is expected to leave the club after its last league game which is against Clermont Foot on Saturday night.

Messi selected the number 30 for his team, the same number he wore for Barcelona when he made his senior debut as a teenager. On August 29, Messi made his professional debut for the team by substituting in the second half of a 2-0 Ligue 1 victory away at Reims.

Galtier released the following statement confirming Messi’s exit, “I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont”. This statement has confirmed that Messi will be leaving this week, but no official announcement about his next club has been made by the Argentine.

Messi represented PSG in 74 games combined across competitions, in both seasons he was part of. He scored 32 goals for the club and was complemented brilliantly by Kylian Mbappe. He also has 30 assists for the club so far. He played a crucial part in the two consecutive league titles which PSG won, in 2021-22 and 2022-23.
