Ace Indian batter Virat Kohli has been in a limelight since his on-field altercation with the Australian debutant Sam Konstas during day one of the boxing day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Different people from the cricketing fraternity have different opinions about a senior Indian player’s altercation with a 19-year-old Australian debutant. However, an Australian media publication named The West Australian took it to the next level for their newspaper for the next day.

The West Australian newspaper seemed to have tarnish Virat Kohli’s image as they wrote ‘CLOWN KOHLI’ as title on back page of their newspaper for December 27. The publication further wrote “Indian sook SLAMMED for pathetic bump in teen’s dream Test debut.” However, Kohli has already been fined 20% of his match fees and was awarded one demerit point after his altercation with Sam Konstas.

Chill. I'll talk to him: Usman Khawaja revealed how he sorted things between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas

Australian batter Usman Khawaja, who was opening the innings with debutant Sam Konstas during the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test, also shared his thoughts on the altercations and revealed how he helped to cool things down between the two. "I've known Virat a long time. We've been mates a long time. I was like (to Konstas), 'Chill. I'll talk to him. You chill, and I'll sort this out'." Khawaja was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.

However, Sam Konstas had an impressive Test debut for Australia as the young batter scored an half-century in his maiden Test. The right-hander scored 60(65) runs hitting six fours and two sixes and also put up an opening partnership of 89 runs with Khawaja (57 off 121). Australia finished day one at 311/6 with Marnus Labuschagne top scoring with 72(145) runs while Steve Smith remaining unbeaten on 68*(111).
