WWE has confirmed the long-awaited return of the 14-time world champion Randy Orton to the promotion at the Survivor Series, the second longest-running PLE event in history. The 43-year-old is set to compete in the WarGames match at the Allstate Arena in Chicago on Saturday, November 25, after being out of action for the better part of a year and a half due to a back injury.
From the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, the main event of WWE Raw, the go-home show before the Survivor Series, had Drew McIntyre earn a pinfall victory over Jey Uso. With that, he earned an advantage for his team in the WarGames match, consisting of the Judgement Day’s Finn Balor, the Money in the Bank contract holder Damien Priest, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh.
It led to Cody Rhodes hinting at the name of the fifth member of his team, which had guys like Jey Uso, Sami Zayn, and the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in it. He said, “It’s the Apex Predator, a matter of fact all these people know who it is too” before the Van Andel Arena chanted the name of Randy Orton at the top of their lungs.
Shortly after Raw went off the air from Grand Rapids, WWE sent out a post on their official X account to make the confirmation that Randy Orton is indeed returning to the Survivor Series. They also shared the poster of the 5-on-5 WarGames match to hype the PLE which is set to go down at the Allstate Arena in Chicago this weekend.
