Former Germany and Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has promised that he will not make fun of Tottenham Hotspur FC if they clinch their tonight’s clash against Manchester City. The Gunners are in a very crunch situation with them needing the aid of their north London rivals to help them in their quest to life the Premier League trophy.
Arsenal are currently leading the ongoing PL points table with 86 points in 37 games where they have won 27 games and lost just five games. Catching them up from the side are Pep Guardiola’s Man City who have 85 points with 26 wins and just three losses in 36 games. They will play Tottenham today and a victory here will strengthen their hold over England’s highest trophy.
Ozil, who is highly known for taking jibe at the Ange Postecoglou’s club in the past took to his Twitter handle and asked for an aid from the North London side. He wrote, “First time ever tonight: COME ON YOU SPURSSS!! If Tottenham don’t lose this game I will never make fun of them again…I promise #MCITOT
Not just the former German star, but his former Arsenal mate Theo Walcott also laid out his cheers to Tottenham for tonight’s game. He said, “I’m wearing all Tottenham white right now, said Walcott. ‘I mean it’s one of those. I expect Man City to win but I also expect Tottenham to go out there and perform because they’re at their home ground and will want to perform.”
He added, “There’s going to be a lot of unhappy people during the game if their team ends up playing particularly well. You want to be in good habits and Postecoglou will get them in good habits ready for a good step next year.”
