The Mumbai Indians (MI) locked horns with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 33 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. After being invited to bat first, the Hardik Pandya-led side posted 192/7 in their stipulated 20 overs, courtesy a 78-run knock from Suryakumar Yadav. Later in the game, the bowlers restricted the PBKS to 183/10 in 19.1 overs, winning their third game in the IPL 2024.
However, with 12 runs needed off the final over, the five-time champions called in Akash Madhwal. But ahead of the start of the over, the youngsters was seen walking up to former MI skipper Rohit Sharma to discuss and seek advice over Hardik Pandya. In one of the videos going viral, Madhwal looked like only listening to Rohit Sharma and completely ignored Hardik Pandya, who was also present on the side.

During the final over discussions, where the young Indian uncapped player once again was seen with the former MI skipper, of whom he has sung praises always. The trio was seen discussing things with a lot of hand gestures. Moreover, due to slow over-rate, the MI had to field only four fielders outside the 30-yard circle than the regular five in the match against Punjab.
After MI’s nine-run win over PBKS, the side not only registered their third win of IPL 2024 from seven matches, but also jumped up to seventh spot in the points table. The Pandya-led side will now take on table-toppers Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Monday, April 22.
