The gaming sensation, Counter Strike is officially set to return this year with it's latest version.  Valve, the video game developing company has officially confirmed that their bestselling video game Counter Strike: Global Offensive is set to have a sequel. Here in this article, we’ll try to list down all the relevant details around Counter Strike 2.

The game is titled simply as Counter Strike 2 will have improved features like higher tick rate servers, better graphics, responsive smoke mechanics and much more.

The game will have a limited release initially and it will be made available to audiences in phases. CS:GO players can undergo a limited test to get selected for playing the early release version. This test will reveal more features to the players. Other details will be made available only after the game’s global release.

How to get access to the limited test for Counter Strike 2?

Players need to be chosen by the development team in order to participate in the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. Valve has claimed that they are seeking players that are most likely to offer insightful input, while the actual selection criteria are unknown. The selection procedure is said to consider things like recent playtime on Valve official servers, trustworthiness, and Steam account standing, per the official FAQs. 

You will see a notification on the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive main menu if you are one of the fortunate few chosen for the Counter-Strike 2 Limited Test. After you get an invitation, click "ENROLL" to start the download. Launch CS:GO after the download is finished, then choose "Limited Test" to play Counter-Strike 2.

Counter Strike 2: Release Date

Although the exact date is not yet announced, the full game is expected to go on the floors from June 21 to September 23 this year. Hence, it can release on any date in the given time period. Additionally, the players will have access to their previous inventories like guns, skins and more from Counter Strike: Global Offensive.

Counter Strike 2: Maps

The classic touchstone maps like Dust II, Mirage and Train will be available and they will feature little to no change in the overall gameplay experience. The maps Aztec and Nuke will undergo changes and will have new lighting and physics changes. The viewers will get to see a revamped look in the mentioned maps.

The only maps which will undergo a complete makeover are Overpass and Italy. It is expected that these maps will have completely new and upgraded features. These were the maps which are already available to play in the beta version, but valve is likely to add more maps in the coming days.
