Zimbabwe cricket team’s captain Craig Ervine lived up to the promise he made to Sikandar Raza prior to the T20 World Cup 2022. The two players had a deal before coming to Australia that the one among the two will have to buy the same number of watches, as the number of Man of the Match awards the other player wins during the tournament.
So, as Raza won three Player of the Match awards during the T20 World Cup 2022, Ervine bought him three watches. Ryan Burl shared the picture of the two players exchanging the watches. The Zimbabwe captain had a sad face while Raza was chuffed to bits. “Here’s a man sticking to his word! Captain Slug buying @SRazaB24 his 3 watches after his superb World Cup campaign,” tweeted Burl while sharing the picture.
Notably, Raza had a prolific outing at the T20 World Cup 2022 as he scored runs as well as took wickets. The Zimbabwe all-rounder struck at crucial junctures to provide breakthroughs to his team. On the back of his incredible bowling, Zimbabwe were able to beat Pakistan in the Super 12s. Also, they nearly pulled off a win against Bangladesh.
Raza scored 219 runs in eight matches and bagged ten wickets as well. He held the key for Zimbabwe at the showpiece event. In fact, Raza has had a terrific year so far. He has amassed more than 500 T20I runs and has taken more than 25 wickets, making him the first to do so.
