The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) unveiled the new jersey for Nepal national cricket team on Monday. The CAN and Nepal National Cricket Team's official sponsor My Second Teacher (MST) together made public the new jersey. The new jersey has My Second Teacher's logo in the center and below that is written the country's name.
Earlier on June 14, the CAN and My Second Teacher had jointly announced an open competition to design the national team jersey. The CAN had said that the jersey should be designed in accordance with the International Cricket Council (ICC) rules for national teams. The CAN received around 500 samples with different designs and amongst those, Adarsha Pokhrel's design was chosen as the best and he was announced the winner of the jersey design contest.
Nepal to play two ODIs against PNG
Nepal will be playing two One-Day Internationals against Papua New Guinea. The first ODI is scheduled to be played on September 5 while the second match will be played on September 8. The matches will be played at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground.
Nepal has been enjoying a good form recently. In the Nepal Tri-series 2021, the hosts were formidable and lost only one game against Netherlands. However, they compensated for that loss in the finals as they cruised over Netherlands with a 142-run victory. Kushal Bhurtel was the highest run-getter in the series as he scored 278 runs from five games at a staggering average of 69.50. Sandeep Lamichhane dominated the bowling charts with 13 wickets, only one less than double the second highest wicket-taker, from five games.
Nepal is placed at 12th position in the ICC T20I Team Rankings and is ahead of Ireland and UAE. Moreover, Sandeep Lamichhane has been their best bowler with 23 wickets from 10 ODIs and 43 wickets from 22 T20Is.
