Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has found himself in the cusp of controversy after he suffered a fall in a club on Friday night. This comes after the Aussie cricketer attended a late-night party and a performance by former cricketer Brett Lee’s band ‘Six and Out’ at the Governor Hindmarsh hotel.

The 35-year-old reportedly lost consciousness after the concert, backstage and required medical attention, which resulted in him being at the hospital. Maxwell, who has been rested from the upcoming ODI series against West Indies, is expected to be questioned by CA over the recent incident. A spokesperson for Cricket Australia stated, “Cricket Australia is aware of an incident involving Glenn Maxwell in Adelaide at the weekend and is seeking further information.”
Furthermore, Maxwell’s manager, Ben Tippett has opened up on the incident adding that the “cricketer is a bit embarrassed”. “Glenn is a little embarrassed by the whole thing. He was a bit sore and sorry on Saturday, but he’s back in Melbourne and resumed training yesterday. He’s not under investigation by Cricket Australia,” Tippett added.
Will Maxwell feature in the T20I series against West Indies?
The 35-year-old is currently not part of the Test squad against West Indies and has been omitted from the ODI series to manage workload due to his BBL commitments. However, he is likely to make a return for the T20I series, starting February 9.
The Selection committee Chairman George Bailey along with the other members, including coach Andrew McDonald have learned about the incident. CA has further clarified that the fall incident is unrelated to Maxwell’s replacement in the ODIs and his omission was solely due to the workload management.
