In the first Test of the highly anticipated five-match series, India will play against England at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Just days before the Test series is scheduled to begin in Hyderabad, the BCCI announced that Virat Kohli will miss the first two matches due to personal reasons, leaving a big hole in the Indian batting department. In the bowling side of things, the Indian cricket team have some of the best spinners in the squad, including the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in particular, who could prove to be the eventual difference for the hosts in clinching the series when it’s all said and done.
For England, the sudden departure of the highly accomplished Harry Brook from the touring party due to personal reasons has meant that the team management will have to bring in a squad player into the playing XI. The lack of experience in the England spin bowling department, apart from Jack Leach, will mean that the likes of James Anderson and Ollie Robinson have to pick up key wickets at regular intervals on tough fast bowling pitches, making their task just that more difficult for the upcoming Test series.
