Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi could play against each other in January - Here's how

With Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Al-Nassr, the chances of him facing Lionel Messi were considered to be next to zero. But these two footballing legends could play against each other in January.  As per the reports, Leo Messi’s Paris Saint Germain will be traveling to Saudi Arabia in January for a mid-season friendly. In this fixture, the Parisian are likely to go against a combined eleven players from Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr, where Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play. 


Ronaldo completed his transfer to the Riyad-based club on Friday, 30 December. Al-Nassr announced the news through their social media handles. In the post, Ronaldo is seen holding his new number seven in yellow and blue colors. Despite being away from the European top flight, Ronaldo is set to become the highest-paid footballer as he is set to make 200 millions per year.

Talking about his new transfer, Ronaldo expressed excitement about playing in Saudi Arabia. He also stated that he is inspired by the club’s vision and sees a lot of potential in footballing talent from the region citing the recently concluded World Cup. 


He said, "I am excited to experience a new football league in a different country. The vision of what Al Nassr are doing and developing in Saudi Arabia both in terms of men's and women's football is very inspiring. We can see from Saudi Arabia's recent performance at the World Cup that this is a country with big football ambitions and a lot of potentials."
