Portugal football legend, Cristiano Ronaldo added yet another award to his illustrious cabinet before starting the second leg of UEFA Nations League clash against Denmark. The Al-Nassr forward, who has been playing international football for more than 20 years, made his debut in 2003, and has won 133 matches for Portugal in 218 appearances, setting a Guinness World Record for most wins by an international player. Moreover, he successfully crossed the 900-mark of goals for clubs and his country team.
Ronaldo has scored 929 goals, the most recent coming in a 5-2 against Denmark. Not only that, but he is also Red Madrid's leading goal scorer, with 450 goals. Overall, the senior Portugal football player has won 33 trophies in his total career, including five Ballon d'Or and five UEFA Champions League titles.
Cristiano Ronaldo misses’ penalty; scores later for Portugal
Portugal defeated Denmark 5-2 in extra time to advance to the Nations League semifinals. However, in the early stages, Ronaldo missed a penalty, but scored later in the game. In the initial stages of the game, Portugal was awarded a penalty after Ronaldo got fooled by the Danish defender Patrick Dorgu. However, in a rare occasion, Ronaldo's attempt was saved by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Later, he covered up the mistake by kicking up his 136th international goal in the second half, which was significant in leveling the scoreboard for Portugal. Portugal after beating Denmark, will be playing the semi-final match against Germany on July 5.
