The reigning IPL champions, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings have been encountered with another major blow with star Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman being stretched off in the final ODI of the three-match series. The probable replacement of injured Matheesha Pathirana in CSK camp, Mustafizur Rahman was seen struggling on the field in the ongoing third ODI against Sri Lanka in Chattogram.

The 28-year-old was seen struggling with cramps when he came to bowl the 48th over in the third ODI at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. While he bowled the first delivery of the 48th over, he was seen struggling to get up on his own and was helped by his teammates.  Check the top betting trends on the   best betting apps in India   and sites.

Furthermore, the teammates called for a stretcher with the Tigers pacer being stretched off in the middle of the 48th over.

It is to be noted that Mustafizur Rahman was supposed to fill in the shoes of Matheesha Pathirana, who also remains doubtful for initial phase of IPL 2024. A BCCI official who opened up on Fizz joining the CSK side on March 20 was quoted as saying by TOI, “Fizz will join the camp on March 20, a couple of days before our opener against RCB. He knows what it takes and we’ll see how he shapes up.”

The MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2024 opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
