The Babar Azam-led Pakistan are facing Bangladesh in Match 31 of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata. While Shakib Al Hasan-led side won the toss, they invited the Men in Green to field first. Both the teams are currently reeling in the bottom half of the points table, fighting for a place in the semifinals.

But soon after being invited to field first, the Men in Green suffered an early blow. In seventh over of the Bangladesh inning, Usama Mir was seen getting hit on his right-hand finger, while saving a boundary. The Pakistan bowler, who was stationed at short mid-wicket was seen damaging his little finger, leaving it in blood as he finally decided to walk off the field.
Notably, pictures of the same have been doing rounds on social media as the player was back on the field after the 11 th over.
Talking about the match, despite losing wickets at crucial intervals, Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah steadied the ship for the Bangla Tigers, taking the team to 117/4 in 27 overs.
