The Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) have received a major blow with their South African batter David Miller missing a few games. The 34-year-old, who did not feature in GT’s home fixture against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in A hmedabad on Thursday, April 4, will remain out of action for a week or two in the IPL 2024.
During the GT vs PBKS clash, the New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson spoke of Miller’s absence from the side. Sharing his experience of making a return to the side for the first time after he injured himself in the IPL 2023 opening fixture, Williamson at the mid-inning show said, “Nice to be out there with the guys. A shame to lose David (Miller) for a week or two.”
Miller has been suffering from a niggle and last featured in GT’s home fixture against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH). He played an unbeaten 44-run knock during GT’s seven-wicket win at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmed abad.
GT skipper Shubman Gill also confirmed that Miller has sustained a niggle and will miss the fixture against PBKS, which the latter won by three wickets. “Miller misses out due to a niggle and Kane (Williamson) comes into the side,” Gill said at the toss. The Gill-led side dropped down to the sixth place after their defeat against PBKS and have two wins and as many losses from four games.
