Former Australia cricketer and batting stalwart David Warner on Monday, March 24 was appointed as the skipper of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise, Karachi Kings. It is to be noted that Warner was roped in by the Karachi-based franchise for USD 300,000. Notably, the 2025 edition of the Pakistan T20 league is set to commence from April 11.
The 38-year-old, who has entered the IPL 2025 mega auction, went unsold. He later was drafted in the PSL 10 and was picked by the Karachi Kings as their first choice in Platinum category. He will join the overseas talent consisting of veteran Kane Williamson, Adam Milne, Tim Seifert, Litton Das, and Mohammad Nabi.

"With over a decade of leadership in global leagues, including the Big Bash League (BBL), Warner is poised to inspire a fresh chapter for the Kings," the statement read.
In an official statement released by the franchise, he also thanked last season’s captain Shan Masood for his services in the leadership role. “At the same time, we extend our deepest appreciation to Shan Masood for his exceptional contributions last season. His efforts were pivotal in building a strong foundation, and we look forward to his continued role as a key player in the squad,” it further added.
