On Sunday, April 13, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 12 runs in match 29 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After posting 205/5 in their allotted 20 overs, the MI bowlers confined the hosts to 193/10, to defend the total with ease.

For the unversed, after winning the toss, Axar Patel, the captain of DC, decided to field first. However, the DC bowlers kept MI batters tight in the powerplay, with the scorecard reading 59/1, crucial contributions from the bat of Ryan Rickelton (41 off 25), Suryakumar Yadav (40 off 28) and Tilak Varma (59 off 33) helped them put a competitive score on the board.

While the 205/5 was said to be the lowest at this venue in the last six outings since IPL 2024, it proved to be crucial for the visitors. For the hosts, Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam picked up two wickets each, Mukesh Kumar got one in his bag.
