Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar is set to miss the game against Lucknow Super Giants. The five-time IPL winners travelled to Lucknow to face the KL Rahul-led side on April 19, Friday, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. Chennai Super Kings are currently in the third spot of the standings with eight points from four wins this season. LSG, on the flip side, have secured the fifth spot with six points so far in the season.

Ahead of the match, an update was shared about CSK pacer Deepak Chahar, according to which the bowler will miss the game on Friday. According to the updates, Chahar is in rehab and he will miss the game against LSG. Notably, Deepak came back to action after a long injury layoff and his performances in the four matches haven’t been great. Chahar has been able to scalp only four wickets with an economy of 9.16.

Nothing to worry about: CSK coach Stephen Fleming shares updates on Chahar

On the eve of the game between LSG and CSK, the latter’s head coach Stephen Fleming shared an update about the bowler and said that there’s nothing to worry about. Notably, Chahar was ruled out in CSK’s game against MI due to niggle injury. In the pre-match conference, Fleming said that the cricketer is under medical observation and it is a minor injury.

Fleming said, “He is doing his rehabs well. It was a minor injury nothing to worry about. Shardul Thakur bowled well in the last match against Mumbai so we opted to give time to Chahar to recover well.” Talking about the game against LSG, Fleming said, “We regard them very highly. They’re a very good side and we don’t really talk about momentum because it can go so quickly. What we want to do is keep repeating the things that we did well and in the last game there were some good things playing in Mumbai.”
