Fast bowler Deepak Chahar is set to play for a new franchise after Mumbai Indians bought him for INR 9.25 Crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Chahar was a part of the Chennai Super Kings before the franchise released him during the player's retention. Now, the right-arm pacer will be seen playing in another successful franchise in the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league.
Deepak Chahar played five matches for Chennai Super Kings IPL 2024 before he had to sit out due to injury. He has been a crucial player for CSK over the years, and was also a part of the franchise’s title triumphs in 2018, 2021 and 2023. Now, he will be looking to have a great time with MI and help the franchise to win their sixth IPL title.

Deepak Chahar made his IPL debut in 2016 for Rising Pune Supergiants after the franchise bought him for INR 10 Lakh. After six years and three IPL trophies with CSK, the fast bowler is set to play for a new franchise in IPL 2025. He will be seen playing as a third pacer for MI along with Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult.
