In a big update, India all-rounder Deepak Hooda has been reported for a suspected bowling action. As per a report published by Cricbuzz, Hooda, who played for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 and represents Rajasthan in domestic cricket tournaments, has been included in Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)’s suspected bowlers’ list.

This development comes at a crucial juncture with the IPL 2025 mega auction just hours away. Moreover, with Hooda making it to the suspected list, it is also reported that he could be banned for his illegal bowling actions.

Deepak Hooda likely to be banned for suspected bowling action

According to the report, Manish Pandey, Shrijith Krishnan have been banned for their bowling actions, Deepak Hooda, Saurabh Dubey and KC Cariappa are being suspected at the moment and will be closely monitored. “Manish Pandey (KSCA, 157) and Shrijith Krishnan (KSCA, 281) have been banned from bowling while Deepak Hooda, an off-spinner from Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), is in the suspect bowling list. Saurabh Dubey (344, VCA) and KC Cariappa (381, CAM) are also in the suspect list,' a report from Cricbuzz stated.

Speaking of the 29-year-old Indian all-rounder, Hooda has played 10 ODIs and 21 T20Is. In 10 ODIs, Hooda has scored 153 runs whereas in T20Is, he has amassed 368 runs with one century to his name. The Indian all-rounder’s last international appearance came in February 2023 against New Zealand in a T20I match.

Coming to his IPL career, in 2024 edition of the tournament, Hooda had a lukewarm outing, scoring 145 runs in 11 games. He failed to claim a single wicket in IPL 2024 while representing LSG. The 29-year-old will go into the IPL 2025 mega auction after registering himself for the base price of INR 75 Lakh.
