The T20 format is all about hitting the balls out of the park. Players like Chris Gayle, Andre Russell have scored mighty hundreds in a 20-over game in the past. However, no one ever scored a double century in a T20 game. But a Delhi cricketer recently broke the record and achieved the unimaginable.
Delhi cricketer Subodh Bhati sets a new record
Delhi cricketer Subodh Bhati scored a scintillating double century in a club T20 tournament. The Ranji cricketer, who opened the batting for Delhi XI new against Simba, scored an unbeaten 205 in just 79 balls. His innings included 17 sixes and as many boundaries. The batsman scored at a Strike Rate of over 250 as he thrashed the bowlers all around the park.
Delhi XI New scored 256/1 in 20 overs
Delhi XI posted a mammoth total of 256 in 20 overs, courtesy of Bhati’s double century. Notably, 205 out of 256 runs came from Bhati and the other two batsmen contributed 31 runs together and the remaining runs came from extras. In reply, Simba got bowled out for 199 in 17.5 overs.
Second double century for Subodh
Notably, this is Subodh's second double century in the format. He previously scored an astounding 57-ball 207 for Sanguem Cricketers, which comprised of 21 sixes and 13 fours in 2018. Subodh’s knock had helped his team post a massive target of 329.
