With the Delhi Capitals Women taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in the title clash of the WPL 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Metro has decided to tweak its timings for a day, that is Sunday, March 17. This update comes to facilitate smooth movement of spectators after the conclusion of the WPL 2024 final. Furthermore, the Violet Line service, which is adjacent to the Delhi Gate station will be available till 12:15 am and will be made available till terminal stations on all the lines.
“Hassle-free Metro rides for fans, after a historic #TATWPLFinal. Delighted to work with @OfficialDMRC in making this happen as fans will now be able to conveniently take the metro as their ride home, after the game, with the final metro leaving as late as 12.15 AM,” the Delhi Capitals captioned the post.
“Keeping in mind the safe travels back home for fans after the WPL Final, Delhi Capitals and DMRC have come together to ensure fans travelling home after the WPL Final can take the metro as late as 12.15 am. Delhi Capitals would like to express its gratitude to DMRC for helping facilitate the same and for their support,” the IPL and WPL franchise further wrote in its social media post.
The Delhi Metro further added that depending on the conclusion of the match, the timings will be further modified.
Talking about the Meg Lanning-led side, the Delhi Capital Women sealed the finals berth for the second successive season after finishing at the top of the points table in the league stage. The side had a brilliant run throughout the tournament, registering six wins from eight matches. They will now face the Smriti Mandhana-led Royal Challengers Bangalore Women, who are making their first WPL final appearance on March 17 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
