With the first Test set to be played in less than a week’s time, there have been growing speculations around Team India’s playing XI against Australia for the opening Test of the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. Although, a clarity of Rohit Sharma’s participation in the first Test is still awaited, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir clarified that in such a case Jasprit Bumrah will lead the side.

Apart from Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill is also set to miss the opening Test with fractured thumb after he sustained the injury during the match simulation at WACA Stadium in Perth on Saturday, November 16. Amid all of these, wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel’s inclusion in the XI has been a trending topic of discussion.

Dhruv Jurel likely to feature in India’s Playing XI for Perth Test against Australia

Although, the Indian team management hasn’t yet opened up on their lineup for the Perth Test, set to commence from November 22, but Dhruv Jurel’s latest Instagram post has added fuel to the speculation. The 23-year-old wicketkeeper-batter, who joined India A squad ahead of the BGT 2024-25 alongside KL Rahul, took to Instagram to share picture in India whites. 

“From settinng alarms to catch India’s Tests in Australia to waking up alarm-free,” the Indian batter captioned the post. Since he shared the post, it has not only gone viral, but has garnered over 152K likes and close to 500 comments.
