Royal Challengers succumbed to a defeat against the five-time champions Mumbai Indians on May 9 at the Wankhede Stadium after earlier beating them by seven wickets at the start of the tournament. After being invited to bat first by Mumbai Indians, the Faf du Plessis-led side posted 199 on the board. However, their bowlers couldn’t replicate their performance as they eventually went down in the game.

While Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell scored the crucial runs for the Bangalore-based franchise, Dinesh Karthik, who hasn’t had a great outing in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League also contributed with his 18-ball 30 which included four boundaries and a six.

After this, RCB Head Coach Sanjay Bangar made a startling revelation after the side lost their sixth match in the league. The former India cricketer added that the wicketkeeper-batter wasn’t feeling well. “During the course of his innings, Dinesh started feeling unwell. He was a little bit dehydrated,  and he also voted after he was dismissed. There is enough gap for us, maybe 3-4 days, and with medicines, he should be fine,” Bangar added in the post-match presentation.

It is to be noted that the veteran wicketkeeper-batter was seen retching several times during his stay at the crease as he bowed down a couple of times coughing with discomfort.

Talking about Dinesh Karthik’s performance in the ongoing edition of the tournament, the 37-year-old has only scored 140 runs in the 11 innings, with his highest score being 30 off 18 balls in yesterday’s match against MI. Speaking of RCB, the Faf du Plessis-led side is reeling at the seventh place with five wins from 11 matches with just ten points under their name. They will next lock horns with Rajasthan Royals t the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on May 14 in an afternoon game.
