Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that Portuguese forward Diogo Jota is set to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The German was addressing the media ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League fixture against West Ham United on Wednesday.


Klopp talked about how Jota has suffered a serious calf injury which will derail his chances to play in the World Cup for Portugal. The Former Borrusia Dortmund manager said, “It is really not good news on Diogo. He will miss the World Cup. It is a pretty serious calf muscle injury. It is very sad news for us and Portugal. The first diagnosis was clear and it’s very sad news for us.”
