NBA champion Draymond Green has had a physical altercation with Golden State Warriors teammate Jordan Poole at practice on Wednesday. The incident, reported by the Athletic, started off with a heated interaction between Green and Poole which quickly escalated. Green forcefully struck Poole and needed to be separated.

The pair came chest-to-chest, with both players pushing and shoving each other. The Warriors then proceeded to end the practice and tried to calm all the animosity in the team’s locker room area. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski further reported, citing sources, that Green indeed had punched Poole, who wasn't hurt by the incident and ended up finishing his workout.

This wasn't the first time that Green and Poole were involved in an incident. During a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on 10 November, Green was seen in a verbal altercation with Poole on the Golden State bench before the two eventually hashed it out after the game. Shortly after news broke surrounding the incident, Jason Dumas of KRON-TV reported seeing Poole in good spirits while he was shooting jumpers and laughing with teammates Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Lester Quinones.

Hours after the incident, Yahoo! Sports senior NBA insider Chris Haynes reported, citing league sources, that Green issued an apology about the incident. Haynes claimed that the issues between Green and Poole had been brewing after teammates had noticed a change in the guard's behavior potentially because of his contract extension.

Similarly, KRON-TV's Jason Dumas also reported, citing a source, that the former Defensive Player of the Year apologized to the team and admitted that his emotions got the better of him and that he let the team down with his actions.
