The match number four of the Duleep Trophy 2024 between India B and India C ended in a draw at Rural Development Trust Stadium B in Anantapur on Sunday, September 15. After taking a lead of 193 runs in the first innings. India C lost four wickets for 128 runs before both the captains agreed to a draw on the fourth and the final day. The player of the match was India C pacer Anshul Kamboj, who picked up an eight-wicket haul in the first innings. Apart from that, Abhimanyu Easwaran and Ruturaj Gaikwad went on to play captain’s knock for their respective teams.
After posting a mammoth 525 runs in the first innings with the help of Ishan Kishan’s 111(126) runs and a 82-run knock by Manav Suthar, India C did a great job with the ball as well, bowling out India B for 332 runs in the first innings. For India C, Anshul Kamboj shone with the ball by taking eight wickets for 69 runs in his spell of 27.5 overs. He took some crucial wickets including Narayan Jagadeesan (70 off 137), Sarfaraz Khan, and Rinku Singh to put India B on the back foot.

With that, Anshul Kamboj put his name in the history books by becoming the first player to take eight wickets in an innings in Duleep Trophy. However, India B skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran kept scoring from one end and took India B to a 300+ total. The opening batter remained unbeaten on 157*(286) runs, hitting 14 fours and a maximum with wickets falling regularly at the other end.
Coming to bat in the second innings, India C lost their first wicket early as Sai Sudharsan lost his wicket to Mukesh Kumar in the fifth over. After that, skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad led from the front by scoring 62(93) runs by hitting eight fours and a six. He got support from Rajat Patidar who scored 42 runs off 84 balls hitting five boundaries. Both the batters put up a partnership of 96 runs for the second wicket.
Rahul Chahar took two wickets for India B in the second innings. The leg spinner registered the figures of 2/8 in four overs taking wickets of Ruturaj Gaikwad, and centurion of first innings Ishan Kishan. After the India B and India C match ended in a draw, Anshul Kamboj was awarded the player of the match for a memorable spell of 8/69 in the first innings.
