England Cricket Board has announced the 16-man Test squad for the upcoming tour to India. The Three Lions will play a five-match Test series starting on January 25 2024. The five matches will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi, and Dharamsala as the series is slated to conclude on March 11.

Talking about the squad, Ben Stokes will continue as the captain with the all-rounder scheduled to complete his recovery after knee surgery. With Stokes, other veterans like James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root and Mark Wood have kept their spots. Talking about the new names in the squad, the ECB has included three uncapped players with Surrey quick Gus Atkinson joined by off-spinners Tom Hartley and Shoaib Bashir.
The spin attack is further bolstered with the inclusion of left-arm spinner Jack Leach and returning leg-spinning all-rounder Rehan Ahmed, who made his Test debut in Pakistan last December. The batting lineup will also include names like Harry Brook, Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Ben Foakes.
