Elon Musk, the executive chair & CTO of Twitter, has called Mark Zuckerberg “chicken,” after the co-founder of Facebook claimed that he isn’t serious about their potential cage fight. The sage between two of the biggest social media personalities in the world began when Mark Zuckerberg launched Threads, an Instagram app, which closely resemblances Twitter, the micro-blogging site.

It was Elon Musk, who brought up the idea of a fight between himself and Mark Zuckerberg, to which the 39-year-old started to take interest in. Last week, the 52-year-old posted on Twitter that he is planning to receive an MRI on neck and upper back, which might require a minor surgery.

On August 13, Sunday, Musk took to Twitter to share a full screenshot of the conversation he had with Zuckerberg. His first message read, “Wanna do a practice bout at your house next week?” The Facebook co-founder responded with a lengthy message, “If you still want to do a real MMA fight, then you should train on your own and let me know when you are ready to compete.”

He added, “I don’t want to keep hyping something that will never happen, so you should either decide you’re going to do this and do it soon, or we should move on.” This led to the Twitter owner saying, “I will be in Palo Alto on Monday. Let’s fight in your Octagon.”

Elon Musk didn’t stop there and sent another message to Mark Zuckerberg, which read, “I have not been practicing much, apart from a brief bout with Lex Fridman today. While I think it is very unlikely, given our size difference, perhaps you are a modern day Bruce Lee and will somehow win.”

The CEO of Meta was quick to learn about the screenshot which had surfaced online, in which the owner of Twitter called him out. He took to Threads, an Instagram app, to send a post in response, “I think we can all agree Elon isn't serious and it's time to move on. I offered a real date. Dana White offered to make this a legit competition for charity. Elon won't confirm a date, then says he needs surgery, and now asks to do a practice round in my backyard instead.”

“If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me. Otherwise, time to move on. I'm going to focus on competing with people who take the sport seriously,” Mark Zuckerberg’s post further read.

Then, Elon Musk fired back at the co-founder of Facebook, for claiming that he isn’t serious about fighting him inside the octagon, with a tweet, in which he called Mark Zuckerberg “chicken.”

Whether Musk and Zuckerberg get the chance to finish off each other in MMA or not, their ongoing saga is looking far from finished on social media.
