It looks like the much-anticipated fight between X CEO Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is finally going ahead. Musk confirmed the news on his Twitter, and also shared a host of interesting new details about a fight that has the potential to be the biggest ever exhibition match in the history of contact sports owing to the sheer reach and influence of the two participants. The bout has been building up in hype and expectation for more than a month now, and it looks like the two CEOs have finally managed to make it work, despite Musk’s health scare earlier this week.

Musk confirmed that the fight would be livestreamed on X and on Meta. Despite talks with the UFC for an extended period of time, the fight will be managed by Musk’s and Zuckerberg’s foundations instead of the popular promotion. The South Africa-born billionaire also confirmed that the fight was set to take place in Italy and that talks had been concluded with Italy’s Prime Minister and Minister of Culture, though he didn’t reveal the exact location. As confirmed earlier, the proceeds from the fight will be going to a charity for veterans and to Italy’s pediatric hospitals.

Musk said, “The fight will be managed by my and Zuck’s foundations (not UFC). Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all. I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have agreed on an epic location.”

Musk provides update on health, says minor surgery might be req uired

Elon Musk was also asked about his MRI, to which he replied saying that everything was relatively good to go bar a minor issue with his shoulder which might require surgery.

He said, “I spent 3 hours in an MRI machine on Monday. Bottom line is that my C5/C6 fusion is solid, so not an issue. However, there is a problem with my right shoulder blade rubbing against my ribs, which requires minor surgery. Recovery will only take a few months.”

Musk previously voiced concerns over his health thanks to training for the cage fight. The tech magnate previously complained that he had major back pain following a sparring session with a sumo wrestler.
