Despite multiple warnings from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Indian players are enjoying their time in England to the fullest. Although the Indian cricket board issued a warning to all the players after captain Rohit Sharma tested positive for COVID-19, they were seen enjoying dinner in a restaurant in Birmingham. Some of the players also posed with the restaurant staff.

In a picture going viral on social media, a bunch of Team India players is seen sitting at a fine dining restaurant. In the second picture, all the players are seen posing before the camera alongside the staff members of the restaurant in Birmingham. The bunch of players included Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Mohammed Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Shardul Thakur.

In another picture shared by KS Bharat, who is a part of the Test squad, he is seen enjoying a casual outing on the streets of Birmingham with teammate Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder had a bag in his hand which suggests the two players might have gone shopping.

Notably, the BCCI had given a strict warning to players to follow the medical team’s advice. The guidelines included not visiting public places, staying indoors unless absolutely needed, and avoiding coming in contact with fans. This was done to avoid any further Covid-19 cases in the Indian camp.

“The board has scolded some players over their habit of hanging out in public. It also seems some players went in public and clicked pictures with fans, which could be dangerous. We had told them to stay careful but they still often roamed around in the city which is not required, so we asked them again to take precautions,” a source from BCCI told ANI on Monday.

It’s worth mentioning that the fifth Test which is to be played on 1 July is a part of India’s 5-match Test series from 2021. The final Test could not complete then because of a Covid outbreak in the Indian camp. And even this time, captain Rohit Sharma has already tested positive for the virus.
