Manchester City and England star Jack Grealish received a $700 fine for speeding at 44mph in a 30mph zone. The football star was caught by a mobile camera at Station Road, Wythall, Worcestershire in July 2023. While the footballer didn’t appear at the Worcester magistrates’ court, his barrister submitted a guilty plea on his behalf. The 28-year-old received a $700 fine with five penalty points, a prosecution cost of $118 and a victim surge of $285.
His barrister John Dye said, “Mr Grealish means no discourtesy by not attending. I am instructed to enter a guilty plea on his behalf in relation to speeding." The maximum penalty for the offence was $1075 and was later reduced to $700 after a guilty plea. Dye told the court, “He can afford to pay that figure. I am asked to apologise on his behalf. It was a mistake.”
That says something about our team: Jack Grealish makes bold claim on current Man City squad
Manchester City star Jack Grealish made a bold claim on the current squad of Manchester City as well as the iconic squad during the 2008-09 season. He told Sky Sports, “I’ve said in a lot of interviews that, for me, the team I’m in now – and especially last year – it’s just unbelievable, the togetherness we have. Over the years, there have been so many top teams in the Premier League that haven’t done what we’ve done.”
He added, “Even (Manchester) City’s team in 2018/19, with David Silva, Sergio Aguero, and Kevin De Bruyne, and Man United’s team in 2008/09, with Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez – none of these teams won the treble. With the experience we have and the quality we have, we don’t really doubt ourselves. I feel like everyone knows how hard it is to win a treble. We did it last year and it was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had in football, especially having played such a big part in it.”
