The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 has reached a crucial stage with teams eyeing a semifinal berth. While teams like the host nation, India, South Africa and New Zealand have shown some remarkable performances, on the other had some top teams including the likes of reigning champions England and Pakistan are have a season to forget.

In match 26 of the ODI World Cup, which was played between Pakistan and South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, there were several moments which caught the eyeballs. While some included major injuries, there were some controversial moments too. Among many such was Rassie van der Dussen’s controversial wicket.

In the ninth over South Africa inning, van der Dussen was given out LBW and the DRS showed some different results, causing uproar among the cricket fanatics. Initially, the ball tracking indices indicated that Usama Mir’ delivery would have missed the stumps. However, later it adjudged to suggest that the ball would have only gazed the bails, going with the umpire’s call, which was ‘out’.

However, now an ICC spokesperson has come forward to throw some light on the incident. As quoted by Sportskeeda, the spokesperson said, “In today’ match between South Africa and Pakistan, an incomplete graphic was erroneously displayed during the LBW review of Rassie van der Dussen. The completed graphic with the right details was ultimately displayed.”

Talking about the match, South Africa registered a close one-wicket win over Pakistan to go to the top of the table, having won five of the six matches played so far in the tournament. The Proteas Men, who are on a three-match winning run will next take on 2019 finalist in New Zealand on November 1 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
