Pep Guardiola's Manchester City are scheduled to host the second tier English football club, Burnley at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup 2022-23, quarterfinal on Saturday. While the Citizens defeated Bristol City 3-0 in the fifth round, Vincent Company's side defeated third-tier side Fleetwood Town 1-0 with a late winner to qualify for the quarterfinals.

Man City and Burnley faced each other five times in the FA Cup and the former dominated the fixture with four wins while the Clarets won their only game against the Citizens in January 1931. Burnley have scored more than one goal against Man City in the FA Cup only once during their single victory against them while the defending Premier League champions have scored 11 goals in five FA Cup meetings with Burnley.
