West Indies international, Fabian Allen fell victim of a terrifying incident. The 28-year-old all-rounder was robbed at gunpoint in Johannesburg. The incident is speculated to have occurred outside the team hotel during his stint with Paarl Royals in SA20 2024.

As reported by Cricbuzz, the assailants, who were armed with a gun, confronted Allen near the renowned Sandton Sun Hotel, forcibly taking away his phone and personal belongings, including a bag. Sources close to the SA20 franchise Paarl Royals and Cricket West Indies have confirmed the incident. Moreover, a close source to CWI have also acknowledge the situation, assuring that the cricketer is unharmed.
“Our head coach Andre Coley, also hailing from Jamaica, reached out to Fabian. Contact was successfully established through Obed McCoy (another West Indies international). He is fine. CSA (Cricket South Africa) and his team, Paarl Royals, could share more details if there are any,” a top CWI official told Cricbuzz.
Moreover, it is being informed that the incident has been redirected to the police. Notably, it is not for the first time that an incident like this have occurred.
Speaking of Allen’s franchise Paarl Royals, the David Miller-led side finished at third place in the league stage and will now play the Eliminator on Wednesday, February 7 against Joburg super Kings at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
