With the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) just two nights away, the Mumbai Indians (MI) captaincy saga continues to be the talking point. Although, Hardik Pandya, who took over the reins from Rohit Sharma, made his side of the story clear; Mark Boucher was circled in the controversy after his recent gesture at the pre-season press conference.

But in a new turn, a fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to blame former MI captain Sachin Tendulkar. The fan, who opened a new conspiracy theory behind Rohit Sharma’s sacking from MI captaincy, dug up some serious details, alleging that Sachin Tendulkar, who currently is the mentor of the Mumbai Indians (MI) was the person behind this move.

“Few people may call me stupid for this but Sachin Tendulkar (whom we consider idol) is the main culprit behind removing Rohit Sharma as MI captain,” a X user, who runs by the username @time_square bluntly stated.

“Sachin is clearly having some issues with Rohit since last 2 years maybe because of his son Arjun not getting any chances in MI colour. Further, Arjun also got dropped from squad after two games,” he continued highlighting how he did not post anything around Rohit’s crucial knocks even once.

Speaking further and adding more spice to the story, the fan further clarified that the last time Sachin posted about Rohit was on 20 April 2022.

Is Sachin Tendulkar the one behind Rohit’s captaincy sacking?

To put his point strong, the X user further added that Arjun Tendulkar has unfollowed Rohit Sharma on Instagram. Sharing a screenshot of the instance, he wrote, “To everyone’s surprise, Arjun has unfollowed on Instagram. Arjun follows 530+ people on insta including Hardik, Ishan and almost every MI & Indian cricketer.”

However, the user towards the end of his tweet thread said that it is his analysis. Not only this, but fans also took to X to drop some unexpected comments. While one of the user said, “don’t spread negativity”, a few others claimed that this might to be true to some extent.
