With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 just round the corner, all stars are now in India ahead of the mega event. While the players have joined their respective franchises, the IPL 2023 commentary panel is all set to go roaring with Australian batter Steve Smith being the latest addition.
In a video shared by Chennai Super Kings on MS Dhoni’s entry at the Chepauk Stadium for practice ahead of IPL 2023 opener, the fans also look excited and eager for the tournament to kick start. The video of MSD at Chepauk went viral in no time and even the former cricketers took some time out to re-share the video. One of them was former New Zealand cricketer Scott Styris.
While re-sharing the video which had fan chants for MS Dhoni, Styris captioned the post, “Still the big dog around town!!” The former cricketer did not mean to portray anything negative with this caption, rather he had some words of appreciation for the CSK skipper. However, this did not get well with some of the fans.
Some netizens called out Styris for his ‘big dog’ remark, a few fans were trolled as their interpretation of the comments went the wrong way.
