The FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place on 18 December 2022 at the Lusail Stadium. Defending champions France will take on Lionel Messi-led Argentina for the elusive trophy. But along with the FIFA World Cup title, a plethora of individual awards will be given to players for their incredible performances throughout the tournament. FIFA gives out four individual awards and one team award after every World Cup to those who have distinguished themselves in various aspects of the game.
These awards were first introduced in 1982. The Golden Ball award is given to the best player in the competition. The top goal scorer of the tournament is awarded the Golden Boot. The Golden Glove award was introduced in 1994 and goes to the top-performing goalkeeper.

The FIFA Young Player award is given to players 21 years old and younger. FIFA also gives out a Fair Play Trophy is presented to the team which had the best disciplinary record. To qualify for this award, the team must at least qualify for the second round of the competition.
