In the third match of the FIFA World Cup 2022, it will be the reigning Africa Cup of Nations champions Senegal taking on the Netherlands at the Al Thumama Stadium, Doha on Monday. However, much to their disappointment, Sadio Mane, the star player who scored the decisive goal in each of these iconic victories has been ruled out of the competition with an injury.
On the other hand, the Netherlands have a few injury concerns to deal with themselves but have recent form on their side. In fact, the Dutch are unbeaten in 15 matches ever since Louis van Gaal became their boss for the third time in the previous year.

Despite Senegal's best efforts to help Mane recover in time, he has been officially ruled out of the tournament. This comes as a major blow as a member of the Senegalese Football Federation said that they would have to find a way to get the job done in absence of Mane who is their best player. That's not all as Abdou Diallo also remains doubtful. Other than that, they should have all players available for selection.

With both teams arguably without their best goal scorer, the contest might even out a little, but Mane's loss is going to hurt more to Senegal. This is simply because of the fact that Van Gaal has quite a few attacking options who can put their hand up rather than Senegal who will be missing their main man who has either scored or created 9 of their last 14 goals. Predicting the result to be 2-1 in favour of the Netherlands.
